Wykonane ze stali o zasadniczo okrągłym przekroju poprzecznym w postaci wieloelementowego zmontowanego zespołu. Składają się z zewnętrznej rury prowadzącej, wewnętrznego wału napędowego, tulei połączeniowej, pierścienia ustalająco-dystansowego oraz elementów mocujących (sworznia). Wewnętrzny wał posiada końcówki w kształcie gniazda i trzpienia sześciokątnego, umożliwiając łączenie i przekazywanie momentu obrotowego z maszyny wiertniczej na koronkę wiertniczą. Zewnętrzna rura prowadząca z jednej strony posiada gwint zewnętrzny, a z drugiej gwint wewnętrzny - na końcach rury występują pogrubienia (zworniki).
