Ferrovanadium is a ferroalloy containing 75-85% vanadium, with maximum limits of 1.5% aluminum, 1.5% silicon, 0.25% carbon, 0.08% phosphorus, and 0.08% sulfur, the remainder being iron. It is imported in lump form, approximately the size of small rocks, and is used as a strengthener and hardener for high-strength steels, tool steels, and other ferrous-based products.
